The
Story
In the early 1950s, Vasco and Liliana Marconi left Ponte Buggianese, they opened
Villa Marconi, a restaurant at 24th and Oakley on the city's Southwest side.
The restaurant quickly became known as a delightfully warm and hospitable place
where patrons could enjoy homemade, authentic Tuscan cuisine in a family atmosphere.
Their son John grew up in the restaurant and eventually joined the family business
in 1976. Under his management and continued guidance, the restaurant continued
to prosper until Vasco and Liliana's retirement in 1996.
In order to continue his parents' long-running family tradition, John and
his wife Judy opened Marconi's Ristorante at a new location in La Grange, Illinois
in 1997. The new location provides the perfect neighborhood setting and family
environment that have always been important elements to the Marconi family. More
importantly, Marconi's continues to provide original Tuscan dishes, which have
satisfied customers for the past 40 years.
